This past weekend I made my way to a Creative Escape Weekend hosted by Ronda Wade and Tamie Ackerson.  This is the biggest treat I give myself every year.  These ladies know how to spoil and pamper you.  This year every person who attended (59 women and one gentleman) received a personally monogrammed stamp in their goody bag.  Here is mine.

HAPPY WATERCOLOR!

This is one of my favorite stamp sets available in the Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up!

The soft feel to this card makes it perfect for me to use as a sympathy card or a get well card or even a card to just brighten someone's day.  I like the Pool Party and Basic Gray color combination a lot.  This card inspired one I saw made by Beth McAlexander.

DEMO DIVA REMAKE!

I made this little treat holder for some Rubber Room events before St. Patrick's Day.  You can see that one HERE.  Siince the holiday passed, I did this little remake for our Demo Diva group.  I love Stampin' Up! Punches.  They make creating so quick and easy,

OCCASIONS STAMP-A-STACK TIME!

There will be an Occasions Stamp-A-Stack in the Rubber Room on April 14, 2014, and this is one of the cards we will be making.

Once again, I am using the Rich Razzleberry card stock.  I think I am rediscovering it or something, because lately I really like that color.  I paired it with Smokey Slate here, and I think it is a hit!  The flower comes from Simple Stems and the verbage is from Express Yourself.  This card was inspired by France Martin.  I swapped out the stamp set and words, but I really liked her design.  Want to join the SAS fun?  You can get all the details HERE.  Ready to sign up?  RSVP HERE!

MONOCHROMATIC PETAL PUNCH!

I had written down several monochromatic color combinations I wanted to try, and this was one of them.

This card uses Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder.  It is the perfect card for anyone who loves the color purple in all of its splendor.  I also used the Petite Petals Punch and coordinating Stamp Set, along with some little pearl jewels.  This is the perfect card for any occasion, or no occasion at all.  The inspiration for this card came from Lyssa Griffin Zwolonek, and it was the perfect card idea for me to use those monochromatic combos I had been saving.

Morning Madness is scheduled for April 8th from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and this is one of the cards we will be making in April.  You must RSVP by Monday, March 31st in order to attend.  You will make four cards during this class.  I will provide coffee, water, a light snack and all the materials to make all four cards, including envelopes.  All you have to do is RSVP by Monday, March 31st and bring your favorite adhesive with you to class.  Cost to attend is $15.

TIME TO HEAD HOME!

Well, I have had a great time visiting, but I will be heading home today.  Tonight I will get unpacked, do laundry and put my list together so in the morning I can get all prepped and ready for my Creative Escape Weekend in Lansing that starts on Friday.  I will be exhausted when April rolls around.  But it will definitely be a 'Good Exhausted'!  Will try to keep up with the quick posts.  I have my Occasions Stamp-A-Stack cards ready to go, so hopefully I can take pictures and share those soon.

SIMPLE STEMS

One of the cards I will be sharing in the Rubber Room this month.  This was made with the Simple Stems stamp set and the Hardwood background stamp.  Both of these are available in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

This is a card I CASED from J K Cards.  I love the Hardwood Background stamp because it is so real looking.  I also used the Simple Stems stamp set and the Fab Phrases stamp set to make this card. 

SIMPLE STEMS

This card was inspired by Lorri Hellig, and I love the layout.  The unique opening is made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch available in the Occasions Catalog , and the Designer Series Paper is the Sweet Sorbet DSP available for FREE in the SAB catalog.  The stamp set is Simple Stems, also available in the Occasions Catalog.  My Rubber Room gals will get to try their hands at making this card in April.

TAKING A BREAK!

PETITE PETALS

I love the Sahara Sand and Rich Razzleberry with Old Olive color combination on this card.  I used the Petite Petals, Gorgeous Grunge, and A Dozen Thoughts stamp sets.  Dawn Olchefske, inspired this awesome creation.  

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

This is one of the cards we will be making in the Rubber Room in April.  

This card was inspired by one of my favorite demonstrators, Becky Roberts.  I love the simplicity of this sympathy card, and the fact you can easily send it to a male!  The stamp set is Thoughts and Prayers,  and the Woodgrain background is available in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

SPIRAL FLOWER DIE TOPIARY!

Okay, so I see another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Lynn Weiss, has created this awesome topiary, and I love it.  I jokingly send it to "That Michelle" and ask if she is up for making it.  Of course, "That Michelle" is the only person I know personally who would tackle such an adventure.  And tackle it we did.  I took on the responsibility of covering the pots, painting dowels, putting foam in the pots and adding the ribbon.  "That Michelle" made the flowers.  Today we got together finished the flowers, plugged in the glue guns and we were off!  It was a wonderful time, and I ended up cutting enough more flowers that I can put another one together.  "That Michelle" is going to put three more together~~she is the woman!!  Here is how it turned out.

When they are side by side like this, they sort of look like "That Michelle" and I.  I am, of course, the shorter one, and "That Michelle" is the taller one with the bright yellow bird.

I am going to Lansing next weekend, and I will probably be taking my flowers so I can roll them and put my other topiary together there.  I am really pleased with how it turned out.  Thanks so much, Lynn, for sharing your creativity and "That Michelle" for making me think it was possible, and then making it possible!!

KARIN'S BIRTHDAY CARD!

This is a card one of my Wacky Wednesday gals shared with me tonight.  I loved it so much, she asked if I wanted to keep it.  Of course, I jumped on that!  This card is so sparkly and the Watercolor DSP is a perfect background for it.
