LET'S BRING BIRTHDAYS BACK!
Okay, you have to admit that "Social Media" has sort of ruined birthdays. That is how I see it anyway. When my birthday rolls around each year, I love the entire month because I get cards early, and cards late and cards that arrive right on my birthday. My grandma would always, always, always send me a card with a $5 bill in it, and that made my whole day. The $5 was nice, of course, but the fact that she remembered me and sent me a card gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
With the advent of social media, I get a bazillion birthday wishes from all my social media friends. I appreciate all of them, but they don't really touch me like cards in the mail always did.
I must admit (as much as it pains me), I am like the manicurist with the crappy manicure. I rarely send birthday cards; and I am so embarrassed to admit that, but it is the sad truth.
